I'm aware this is a somewhat silly question, but it's something I've always been curious about and realize this is probably the only medium to ask such a question.
I'm in a few PreHealth Prerequisite courses and have noticed most students are shorter in comparison to the aggregate of students in general education courses i have taken.
Is this the norm or just my experience?

Sorry, new to forums thought this would be most appropriate spot.

Maybe after you get into genetics you will see why people are making fun of you. This is a very ignorant thing to say sir.

In before lock.

Perhaps it was silly to ask. Thanks for link. I've just been viewing these forums for so long thought it was appropiate time to post a question.

6 foot 2 1/4 inches here. I lost a sixteenth when the hair on the top of my head started thinning out.

6'3"
And my hair is staying thick. My dad was bald by my age and so was my brother, so hopefully I keep mine.

It was a serious question but i fear i may have worded it poorly. I'm 6'0 and recently realized i'm one of the tallest people in my bio classes. I was just curious if anyone else has experienced this.

My class has plenty of guys that are over 6' tall.

6'7" here.

And I'm one of the shortest guys on my college's basketball team.

😕 Stop generalizing.

I'm short (hence, username).
My prehealth/pre-med requisite classes didn't make me feel any less short.

eh that's not that short for a girl, average female height is only like 5'4".. I dated a girl once who was around 4'9" now that was a short girl

I need to live wherever you live then, because almost all of the girls I meet are taller than me. 😡

5'2" here, and one of my coworkers who is applying is 4'9", but I would hardly say we're representative of all pre-meds. I am pretty much always one of the shortest people no matter what group of people I'm around. My post-bacc program had a fairly normal height distribution with plenty of short kids, plenty of tall kids, and many many kids of average height.

Fun tip: I recently learned that because American kids are gigantic these days, smaller adults can save a ton of money buying "youth" sized clothing and ski gear! My skis and boots are second-hand -- the 13 year old that owned them before me outgrew them 🙂

What is the height where u are legally a midget?

4'10" (but I think it needs to be the result of a developmental problem for you to actually qualify as a midget or to join little persons groups).

I'm 4'11" on a good morning - my only consolation regarding the shrinking that occurs throughout the day is that it occurs to everyone else, too.

yeah just because someone is 4'10" and under doesn't mean they are a little person or dwarf, they could be just genetically very short rather than having some developmental problem

*but according to wiki dwarfism is sometimes defined as an adult height of less than 4'8"

I think you mean he dated a legal midget.

And I've actually also noted at my interviews the guys are rather short, on average. There has been maybe a handful of 6'+ students in total. Odd, since in my region the average male is probably around 6', rather than the national average. When looking at averages you need to account for ethnicity. I'm in a genetically-inclined-toward-height area.

Not sure i understand what you're saying, but i'm sorry if the question offended you. It wasn't my intention.

Seems for the most part from responses that there isn't a substantial height variance. Thanks for response this was just something i was always curious about.

Somewhere a Caribbean adcom just reserved a spot.

Much obliged.

Uhhh...not really lol. There are too many in my school to even care who's shorter and who's taller.

Yes, they are all short. All of them. 🙂
