Scratch paper, ear covers (industrial), and pencils are provided. No other testing aids are allowed.
Other than ID, no personal items are allowed in the testing room. Personal belongings, including telephones, pagers, books, handbags and food, must be stored in the designated locker that has been assigned to you.

No, if you have poor eye sight you are not allowed to do well on the MCAT. You must imagine what the problem is on the screen.
/sarcasm off

I would highly doubt them not allowing you to use reading glasses.

I can't believe the question would even be asked. Exactly as Maygyver said, if anyone who needed glasses would basically fail because the couldn't see the test.

Glasses are not included in this, they are a necessity.

hm, based on this logic I better go into the testing center naked! I consider clothes my personal belongings.

will this be ok?

dude, seriously?

ok i was asking because they're NOT a necessity. i can see fine without them they just make me more comfortable. if they're so strict that you can't take a sweater off once you've walked into the room with it i thought maybe a glasses case would be a potential atom bomb of cheating materials or something. jeebus.

Thats ridiculous you can't take off a sweater or something. What if you had a bloody nose or your contact lens fell out...boom no med school. I'll be bringing my glasses in case my contacts fall out, it's HAD to have happened to someone before! Idiot test proctoring system imo

there's another thread on this page where someone said that their friend had a seizure during the test and they wouldn't even pause it.

I am a TCA (Test Center Administrator) at a Prometric center that administers the MCAT. There is a lot of misinformation around about what is and is not allowed on the day of testing. All test centers are supposed to follow the same "client practice" rules for the test, although some centers interpret things a bit differently. Number one - NO electronic devices - such as cell phones, iPods, etc should be brought into the test center. Leave them in your car. Number two - NO STUDY MATERIALS allowed. We argue with testers every test because "someone" told them they could review notes between sections. This is WRONG and will get you written up (CPR - Center Problem Report). You ARE allowed to bring food and drinks to store in your locker. No food or drinks are allowed in the testing room. This includes cough drops (allowed only in your mouth). Reading glasses are certainly allowed - but not a case for them or a laynard to hang them around your neck. Sweaters may be worn into the room - but if you get warm, you must come out to hang it up - it cannot be thrown over the back of a chair. We do our best to be fair to everyone and to enforce the rules WE are given to make sure no one has an unfair advantage when taking the test. Please work with us to make this a stress free experience for all of us!

If you have any question, you can actually visit the testing center prior to your exam date and ask questions. When I took mine, I visited the testing center and one of the ladies explained to me everything. She even showed me what kind of scratch paper and pencils I would be getting, etc.

It was also helpful to get myself familiarized with location and settings.
