I know the osteopathic timetable is slower than the allopathic timetable in terms of when applications are considered early and late. Right now are osteopathic secondaries considered late?

The emails I've been getting are saying to submit by early October. I've just submitted all my MDs last week, and I'm still planning to submit all my DOs by the end of this week.

However small a chance for interview if they are late, not submitting at all will give you no chance.

Yes, many schools have started acceptances, interviews booked through December. I didn't know DOs application cycle was considered later than MD.

Im late in the game too and I expect my interviews (if I even get any) to probably be on jab or feb at the earliest. Maybe with md acceptances starring to roll out a limited # of earlier slots open up.

Debating on this as well. Which one has more competitive avg. MCAT--
AZCOM or CCOM?

This was posted to reddit a while back, might help you out. They both have an average of 28.

They listed Pomona as "rural - small town" ?? I'm guessing their western category is for both pomona and lebanon.

general rule of thumb is any secondary not out within the first month is late. Yes, you will hear tales of folks who applied late and got interviews, and you'll hear tales of folks who applied late and didn't. Bottom line, if you're a great applicant you can get interviews no matter when you submit but your chances of getting an interview and acceptance are, without a doubt, MUCH better if you submit early. And by early, I mean AACOMAS within the first two weeks it is open and secondary turnaround in no more than 7 days.

So, yes, you are applying late. Is it the end of the world? no. Can you get an interview/acceptance? yes. Are your chances better if you had applied early? Of course early is better.

+1

I think, on my first try, I wasn't complete with supplementals until about mid-December. My application went in about the first of November. Schools I called said I had a fine chance. I got about 6 interviews, one from a school I had been calling with my worries.
I spent about $6k, got two waitlists, ultimately no acceptances, and a ton of grief and misunderstandings.
Ultimately, at some point, you're applying and interviewing for a spot on the waitlist, I think. Not sure what date to put on it....depends how long it takes the school to review your app and send an invite.

Good luck! And if you don't get in this time, don't give up!

Pretty much. I feel I shot myself in the foot at a couple of schools by not having my primaries submitted by July (namely, my personal statement), as these places are booked heavily for interviews now.
