Just a quick PS question...


If I say something like "the Cardiology department", is cardiology capitalized?

I'd say if it's part of the title of something, then yes. In your case, it's the title of the department... so, Caridology Department.

Similarly, if it's in someone's job title: Head of Cardiology

However, if it's just a noun... "the great cardiologist"... then I wouldn't capitalize.

My guess, anyway...
