i'm a CA resident and i'm planning on hitting up all the DO schools on the west coast and the ones in NY. Are all these schools OOS friendly?:
A.T. Still University, School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona, AZ
Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine of Midwestern University, AZ
NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine, NY
Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, PA
Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York, NY
Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine - California, CA
Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine - Nevada, NV
Western University of Health Sciences/College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific - Lebanon, OR
Western University of Health Sciences/College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific - Pomona, CA
I also was going to hit up the school in WA (
Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine, WA
), but I heard they weren't OOS friendly, what's the low down the schools I listed? Which are and aren't OOS friendly?

Also, what DO schools require DO shadowing? I only shadowed MD Drs.

They have a big northwest bias. I think I saw someone said 85% of their matriculants are from the northwest. You could have a chance if your stats are amazing, but one of their main goals is to create primary care physicians for the northwest, so I'm not sure it'd be worth your time.

I didn't think the regional bias was that strong. I know this is just n=2, but 2 dudes from my school (nowhere near WA) applied with ~3.3/23 and both got in.

29 (9/11/9) 28 mcat (10/7/11) 3.63 gpa, 3.73 scigpa. killer ECs. i'll drop WA, what about oregon? i'd rather not play the odds too much for WA, with DOs my main goal is to get into a west coast one.
If you'd rather go to Pomona over Lebanon Oregon (or the inverse) you only apply to one because the two campuses don't compete with each other. Only one will consider your application at a time. Only if you're rejected from one can you have them consider your app at the other.

thanks. is it the same for touros?

PCOM is OOS friendly. Have heard mixed opinions in NYIT. Not sure about AZCOM or western but an interested to find out

RVUCOM would like your stats and is in the western half of the nation. Also, they don't require a DO letter. I didn't have one, and although they asked me about it at the interview, I'm starting there this year! If you have any questions about it, feel free to PM me.

I'll answer for you as a CA applicant: ATSU, AZCOM, TU-CA, PNWU, TU-NV and both Western are very open to you. Apply only to the Western campus you're interested in though because they only consider you for one. PCOM and NYIT are long shots.

I don't know if this is true. It might have changed when I applied.

I remember last year the secondary said you have to be eligible for acceptance at both campuses in order to get accepted. If you get rejected at Pomona then you're out of consideration for Lebanon. It makes sense since Pomona and Lebanon are considered one big campus.

haha dude, leave the east coast ones for me😉..though Touro CA might be sweet.
I personally think you're good for most of those schools. Do you have a D.O. letter? It will help ALOT (so I've heard from plenty of people).

EDIT: I saw you said you only have MD letters. Thats ok too. Check out AACOMAS app guide, it tells you each schools requirement or preference for DO letters

Must be a new update. Understandable though.
