I took my step 2 last weekend and the conditions were horrible. It is the middle of the summer in the south and the air conditioner was broken. It had to have been at least 90 degrees in the room. There was a guy sitting behind me who took his shirt off (I'm pretty sure that breaks some kind of rule). By the time lunch came around I had a horrible headache from the heat. By the end of the test I couldn't see straight and was rushing through the test. The lady working at the desk said she would call and report that the conditions were bad, but will it make a difference? I don't want to retake that beast of a test (or pay the fee again), but I know for a fact that I could have done a lot better if I wasn't about to have a heat stroke! 😡

If anything they may offer for you to retake the test, but they aren't going to do anything to your score to 'take into account' the fact that the testing conditions were less than ideal. They can't inflate your score because there is no way to fairly decide on how many extra points a hot room should get. I'm sorry this happened to you 🙁

Unfortunate situation and the best case scenario is that they let you re-take the exam. I would consider calling them yourself as well, as the lady at the testing center receives no benefit from making a call on your behalf.

Don't count on anyone helping u out. During my Step 1 last year we had a fire drill and everyone piled out into the parking lot for half an hour in the summer heat. They can give you a letter saying there was no air conditioning or something which you can send along with your score to your residency (who would do that ?). They'll never let u cancel your score or retake the test though. 🙁

If he is osteopathic then I can say they will offer a retake. They did for me last summer due to abnormal conditions.

I'm confused, there was a fire drill and they didn't let you re-take the test? Did they somehow give you an extra half hour to make up for the half hour you had lost?

I bet you a million bucks they either will leave the original score on the score report, or annotate it saying that you re-took it.

There was construction going on outside for 3 hours during my Step 1, im talking loud banging and drilling...nothing I could do about it 🙁 IT was definetely hard to focus tho.

My test was ending around 6 and I was the last person at my testing center and the ******* proctor kept pacing back and forth right behind me cuz he was waiting for me to leave and I was still on my last block. This really messed me up I thought.
