Are we targeting too high a blood pressure intraop?

Where do you find that number? An often repeated phrase, but what it comes down to is the blood pressure the nurses in pre-op measure. Odds are nowhere near the mean they "live" at averaged over 24 hrs. Probably significantly higher I'd think...

Oh of course it can be tough to figure out what is normal for patient. I try to review all their recent records with vitals and make a guesstimate. Any changes in BP meds? If a patient has no available records to review then SOL? May end up using something derived from thr last 24h

Actually there is a study that was recently published, that states that the theory of 20% range is not as effective as going by SBP >90.
