Are you breaking traffic rules if you get off a wait-list right now (after holding an acceptence at one school)?

Hello,

I'm in the fortunate position to have received a few admissions offers over this cycle. I narrowed it down to one school and withdrew my other acceptences before April 30th, however I have stayed on some waitlists.
I just received an admissions offer from a school I was waitlisted at today. I am going to need some time to think about this and decide if I want to take it. My question is am I currently breaking traffic rules by holding two acceptences? They gave me two weeks to respond. I'm guessing the answer is no because 1) that wouldn't make sense and 2) I haven't actually accepted the offer for admission. However I just want to make sure that I am not breaking any rules here.

Thanks!

According to the AAMC, a school can see the CYMS option that you have selected for its institution.

For instance, let's say that you are currently "planned to enroll" at School A. This school can see this status next to your name. If School B accepts you off the waitlist and now shows up on your CYMS, I do not believe that School A would even know this so long as you don't change your CYMS status. The AAMC does not provide names of schools until after the cycle is completely over next fall.

School B would just simply see that you are not "planned to enroll" at their institution and would be expecting this status to change within the time frame (10 business days) that they have allotted you.

As long as you are in communication with School B, it should be fine. I do not believe that you need to involve School A.
