How can the length of green be the same as red?

one of the math book i have said find the length of green using the height and base length of the triangle and then call it A.
At the same time, it says A is also the red line.

and then we use A * B * pie to find the area of eclipse.

B is the height of the base by the way.

depending on how we draw the triangle, its length can vary so I don't know what assumption made this book to say both of them are the same.
