Looking like Netherlands v Germany in final...

UFC TONIGHT PEEPS!

really glad that it shuts up maradona (the hand of god) for good,
yup, a final against the dutch would be awesome....!

I was surprised by the poor play displayed by Argentina the weak defense was no surprise though.
Everyone is dissing Spain but they have been playing against 11 defenders the whole tournament. The winner of Germany/Spain goes all the way Uruguay and Holland are no match.

Dhb,

I would say that Netherlands looked MUCH better in last two matches than Spain. Regardless of who they played. You really think Spain over Netherlands is a given? I think it's just opposite...

Anyone else have a sense about this?

It's not who but how they were played. Every team is going Mourinho style defense on Spain because they know they can't beat them if they try to play them on offense.
So of course Spain victories have been less sexy than that of other teams but look at Portugal: they scored 7 against N Korea but barely showed anything against Spain.
Holland didn't show much against Slovakia and Brazil's own goal really put them down surprisingly.
Holland doesn't have a real striker (no Klose or Villa) and is overall inferior as a team when compared with Germany or Spain. (Which doesn't mean they can't win it).

everything is possible ," the ball is round and the game has two halves", but a final against the dutch (our favorite enemy 😉) would be sweet...

I don't know. I watched the Netherlands-Brazil game and thought the whole thing was a disappointment. The Netherlands seemed like a whiny, boring team to watch. They played so cautiously that Robbens and Van Persie were left to their own devices when a long-ball got to them. So, they'd dribble some and get double-covered and lose the ball. Little fast, short passing that demonstrated real skill.

The whole game both teams were waving their hands at the ref like they'd just been butchered, when most of the challenges were pretty standard contact.

Anyway, I predict that Germany rolls through the rest of the tournament without even having a close game.

i hope you're right, however paul the octopus predicts a spanish win over germany in the semi's....

Spain most likely will win the tournament. Whichever team wins second semi's match will win the in finals...

David Villa's good, but not that good. Torres may not even play vs. Germany b/c he's been performing so poorly.

Germany 3, Spain 1.

Torres will play. Germany is good, quite a surprise on this WWC but still, when it comes to open kind of game, with creative attacks and structural play in middle, there is no match for Spain. Both teams will play open type of football, therefore....

I like Germany, but am concerned if Mueller can't play because of that bull**** yellow card against Argentina. That could change the complexion of the German attack.

I think if they didn't lose to switzerland and have mediocre showings in other matches that might be true. I haven't been particularly wowed with Spain so far. I'm not saying they won't win, but "no match" is a bit of a stretch.

I think it wil be Germany v. Netherlands, and Germany will control that ****.

Actually, the better final will be Spain v. Uruguay. More entertaining offense, that's for sure. Forlan and Villa are pretty amazing, and Forlan should have better looks with Suarez back.

OK, Spain didn't show much so far, but anyone who is into football knows what Spain really represents, and being Euro Champs tells you all. They are really best team in Europe currently. But then again, many factors will be crucial to the winner, and Germany has big chances, but in real, Spain is by far superior team here.

0-1 for spain!
paul was correct again! i wonder whathe could do with stockmarket picks?
fasto

Paul called for Spain again in the final. I'm going with the octupus's call as I'm clearly entirely unable to judge the relative strengths and estimate the future performances of soccer teams. And of stocks for that matter as my sole individual stock I own is down 25% since I bought it like 6 months ago...

On right now. Awesome match!
Hello,

I don't know what you found interesting about that match. Having lived in Argentina several years, I should have found it more interesting, but I found it terrible. The Argentineans played horribly. They had no game plan, no strategy, no defense, no offense, couldn't make decent passes, the passes were made late and the ball was kicked to the middle of nowhere, where there was nobody to take it, they didn't know where their companions were to give the passes, each one was trying to score himself rather than making it possible for others to do it, and when they finally were realizing that they wouldn't be able to do it and they had better pass it to someone else, it was too late, with five opponents surrounding them on all sides. How much worse could they have played?

Now, with Netherlands and Spain, I am happy because both are new to the Cup. No matter who wins, it will be a first timer. I will celebrate either way.

Greetings

I called Netherlands in the final (well, at the 1/4finals at least). But Spain took it with a close 1-0 game. I still feel Netherlands is going to take the match Sunday, they look really good...

all it takes for Spain is to show 50% of what they got, maybe lil more, and good Netherlands has no chance, don't get me wrong, l like them as well, but that is real...

Took 'em 30 EXTRA minutes to get their lone goal. Hardly a blow-out and I feel a relatively boring game, Dutch were really dirty. Props to Spain, they nevertheless deserve it. D712

That was sweet. Chances on both sides.... Robben scared me when he had the ball. Spain moved it around a lot better and got a chance inside the box. Always nice to win in overtime. Adelante Espana!

:clap::clap::clap:

fasto got in contact with the aquarium in oberhausen and will obtain a relative of paul in order to train him in the prediction of stocktrades . should it all work out fasto plans to retire from anesthesiology and start running his own vineyard in tuscany...😀

They should probably extend the halves to 60 minutes each to account for all the crying like little girls that goes on in the world cup. I love soccer but it's getting unbearable to watch. Shame.

Yeah, that's pretty weak.

Robben (sp?) was clearly fouled in that instance sevo mentioned. I guess since he didn't fall, it wasn't called.

Looks like if you take a dramatic b!tch plunge, it helps get calls.

It's tough to get a foul called in your favor if you remain standing and still have a play on the ball.
