I'm not going to lie though, it'll probably come down to the wire if you haven't asked your profs for letters and it'll be stress stress stress
i agree. I did my apps last year down the wire last year, and it was horrible. I esubmitted on Nov 1st and i went to the post office at 4:30pm so i could get my supp apps postmarked by that day. i say, if you can get your LOR's in to pharmcas by Oct 31st, then you have a good chance at making the Nov 1st deadline.
but keep in mind the other thing you have to do.
There's the pharmcas essay, which could be time consuming, depending on how many revisions you have to go through.
Plus, for each school you are going to apply to, you will have to write essays in their supplemental applications and those revisions too.
Other than that, there's a lot of tedious work about filling in your name and personal info for pharmcas and supplemental apps, which isn't hard, but it does take some time, when you have to do several supp apps. Then there's the coursework you have to fill in for pharmcas, and a couple of supp apps (UCSF, USC) asks you to do that on their supp apps i beleive. like i said, not hard but time consuming.
So just keep all those things in mind, it's October 14 right now. If you can get your LOR's in by Oct 31st, you should be okay. I've heard other people say that as long as you esubmit your pharmcas by nov 1st then your LOR's can be sent to pharmcas afterwards, but i can't confirm that and wouldn't want to take that chance.
Last year, i cut it down to the wire and i regretted it b/c so many people got in their apps before me and had a better chance b/c they sent it in earlier.
Also, i didn't sign one sheet on my UOP app and they never told me. Since i submitted it right at the deadline, there was no use correcting the mistake since it would have been after the deadline and having no chance.
On the plus side, me screwing up last year left me motivated to start early this year and was more prepared on the process b/c i was already familiar with it.
So to sum up, if you can get those LOR's in on time, and if you can finish those pharmcas essays and supp apps' essays done in time, then you have a shot at getting in this year.
Hope this helps, that's just from my personal experience. But i think that's what's cool about this SDN forum, people can tell their stories so others can learn from your mistakes. Man I rambled a lot.
p.s. I'm assuming you're applying to CA schools so to give you a heads up. USC wants you to send a copy of your transcript directly to them. And i beleive Western wants you to send LOR's directly to them.
Good Luck, Cheers
