Hi all,

Here's the situation: Had a class with an adjunct. This prof almost never answered emails and was impossible to get a hold of except during class/lab time.

I had an A going into the final, and my final grade turned out to be an A-, and I haven't had the opportunity to review either my final lab practical (worth %12.5) or the final. I (and others) have been trying to get a hold of this prof for a week now, to no avail (many people took a much bigger hit than I).

There were several parts of the Adjunct Policy manual this Prof violated during the semester (availabilty, returning written work, etc), and several of us are ready to take it up the chain.

Opinions? Worth it?

Thanks,
Oldie

I had similar experiences happen to my friends and a similar experience that almost happened to me personally. For an A-, I wouldn't bother. But for a B-, then yeah - - - goes w/o saying, IMHO.

Be content w/ what you have! 🙂

I would pursue it. It sounds like a lot of people were affected... and it could only help all of you if all of you pursued it collectively.

This has happened to me about five times now, it's extremey frustrating. It happened again this semester, I got a 92.1 in Microbiology. It is a 3.66 instead of a 4.0. This has dragged down my gpa.

If you were done wrong by, I would certainly pursue it. I would normally not recommend doing it and pissing off people (remember, you may need recommendations) in borderline cases, especially if you ended up with some form of an A, but if you were clearly wronged, you should go for it.

You should have the opportunity to review your final, but it might take a while for this to happen. You would only have a case if there were grading errors on the final.
