I searched for a thread on this topic but could find none with the info I was looking for. It appears that in addition to UCSF, Arizona asks its applicants to write an essay the morning of the interview. UCSF asks for a 2 paragraph essay. Does anyone know what we should expect at Arizona? I am not the best timed writer. Im the type that will re-write a sentence 10 times. Anyway I would love to hear any input. I am not looking for specific essay topics or questions but rather the essay format (ie 5 paragraph etc).

You will have plenty of time to write your essay. Just write what comes to mind on your specific topic. Honestly. it's nothing to worry about.

From what they told me the essay part of the interview process doesn't hold that much weight. They just want to see that you are not totally illiterate. I personally feel like I am a horrible writer, but they felt that I did fine. If my essay was acceptable then I'm sure everyone else's would be.

USC has also a paragraph essay. No big deal. The admission person mentioned that it is no big deal.

All these schools have an essay. Nothing really hard, and you don't need to fill both sides of the page. Don't worry, this is the least of your challenges on getting in.

San Antonio also has a brief essay at the end of the interview day. The topic (at least for our group) was a little more specific than "well, what did you think of you experience today?" and geared itself toward some meaningful reflection on our part. I liked it and I think it's a great idea, generally speaking.
