CONGRATS! Don't forget to update Predents!

I just got my invite this morning by email! That means there is still hope!

I got mine too today! Congrats everyone! let me know when you guys are going for the interview...👍

9/17 I'll be there!

Hey guys, congrats on your interviews! Do you remember how long you waited after your secondary application was complete to hear from them.
thanks.

aww. I hope I get one. I did take my time on the supplemental though......

When did U invited people send in the secondary???????????????????????????????????????????

congrats

I don't know what you've heard about their interview procedure's in the past, but they have re-designed how they do interviews this year. The guy who was in charge has given the reigns to someone else so it may be different, may be very similar. just so you know.

Lingual View,
Congrats on the interview!
Did you have Dr. Gould for O-chem at ASU?

I did.... The guy is a legend. My favorite Professor at ASU by far. He made studying for O Chem on the DAT nearly unnecessary. I assume you had him too?

I heard the interview process has changed this year as well. The only info they gave us is that there is a panel interview, a manual dexterity test, and a group activity. Does anyone know specifics?

Yea, I had him for both semesters just finished with him in spring. His website totally rocks and he (and Chad) is the reason I did so well in Ochem.
I think I know who you are.

For those of you that have interviews at ASDOH could you please tell me when you submitted your secondary? THANKS!

For those of you who have interviews scheduled at ASDOH, what time do are their interviews scheduled to start and end? Thanks in advance.

they have two sessions each day -- a morning one from 8-12 and an afternoon one from 12-4. those aren't the exact times to the minute (can't recall for sure right now), but it's give or take 15 minutes to those hours.

for those who got interviews, did you first receive an email from ATSU stating that your application was complete and it could be 8 weeks before you hear a decision, and then later receive the email inviting to the interview?

I just got the status update email this evening.

Yes. Mine was submitted July 7th, got the "application complete" email July 10th, and the interview invite email on August 14th.

If that's what they told you this year will be like, then it sounds pretty similar to previous years. The group activity and manual dexterity tests happened last year too. As for the panel interview, I think that's different. I think they were one on one before.

I didn't interview there, but I knew about 10 people who did last year. Most of them got in, and I don't recall anyone mentioning a panel interview.

I just talked to a my brother-in-law's dad about my interview. He teaches in the Ortho program at ASDOH and does interviews of those trying to specialize. He said one of the guys that was in charge of interviews and used to do them in kind of a wacky way has gone to midwestern for sure. He also told me that of over 3000 applicants they only interview like 400. I don't know if that is true. I need to look it up.

Was it Dr. Simonsen? Dr. Hasel? or was it one of the admissions board?

Probably Dr. Simonsen. I don't know. We shouldn't read too much into it though. I wouldn't expect the interview to change much just because one employee went to be dean at a different school.

I'm not sure about Dr. Simonsen's involvement in the interview process, but I interviewed last year, and it was sort of a "panel" interview. Dr. Polk, Dr. Zais, and myself. A student was supposed to sit in as well, but they had exams. So it sounds similar to previous years. I hope it wasn't Dr. Polk or Dr. Zais that left for Midwestern. They were both great at my interview and I was hoping to see them again! Maybe a current student can enlighten us on the faculty that left/remain...

Hey CTdent. looks like you applied last year. since you interviewed there last year, do you know a rough # of how many applicants they interview? just trying to get an idea of how many interviewees they actually accept.

According to the ADEA for the class entering fall 2006, they interviewed 360.

Yep, about that I think...and the class size last year was 56. I think this year it may be expanding. So it seems like chances are about 15% of being accepted out of the entire interview pool. It's on the lower end, b/c I think most schools are about 1/3 or better.

I think it's a little higher than that, probably 20% or so.

For those who got invites... congrats!!

I just sent my secondary a few days ago and was wondering what are your guys'/gals' stats?

I am a little worried because my PAT (15) and RC (16) are low, but TS (20) and AA (19). I have a 3.72 Sci GPA.. Does anyone have similar DAT scores to mine that got an invite??

Thanks.

Yea, I have RC 14, TS 20, AA 18, PAT 22, GPA 3.75, white male. Got interviews at both Arizona schools.

Congrat! to those who got invited.
I'm having an interview on the 29th. I am pretty nervous because I miscalculated the driving time from the university to hotel and to airport. My interview will end at 2:30pm and my flight will leave at 4:28. I don't know if I have enough time to board. 🙄 I heard that you need to be at the airport at least 1 hour early. Yike!
Just to let you know that before you book the flight, plan out how much time it takes for you to get to the hotel and airport and also consider the traffic hours. I live in CA.

I heard that MWU like to ask geographical or political questions. Is that true?

This is midwestern's first year to interview but it is likely because they have had and influence from the same people who were in administration at AT Still.
