You can do searches and find plenty on the subject. Arizona requested that the feedback section be taken off this website.

from the aforementioned link by Javadicavity:

"The day went like this. When I arrived at the school, I was handed a packet of information about the school and about the admissions process. A student showed me into the library where I sat and chatted with the other 6 applicants. About 15 minutes later, the Dean of Admissions greeted us and told us what to expect for the day. In addition, he told us that the applications this year were very competitive and that getting an interview was a good sign.

This was followed by a 30 minute chat with the Dean of the school. He talked to us about dentistry in Arizona, the curriculum at the school, the plans for the clinic and the campus, and the results from Part 1 of the boards.

Next, we all went into another room and participated in a group project with members of the admissions committee observing us.

When the group project was finished, we had a single interview composed of two members of the admissions committee, the dean of admissions, and one student. They asked philosophical, current event, and exploratory type questions. There were 6 current event questions each worth 1 point. The topics covered were world geography, current political leaders, historical political issues, and events that were currently happening in the news. Most of the applicants there that day only knew two of the answers at best.

After the interview, which lasted 25 minutes, we each wrote an essay. The essay was graded with a maximum of 20 points being awarded for punctuation, grammar, spelling, and content.

The last part of the interview day was a tour of the school and a farewell by the dean of admissions. Overall, it was good experience."

Also from the diary link by JavadiCavity:

"Absolutely amazing! I think that is how I'd sum up the Arizona school of dentistry. I was completely impressed with facilities, the administartion, and the students. The interview went pretty well. I enjoyed chatting with the interviewers and getting to know them better. They were very open about any topic I wanted to discuss. The students were also very eager to help. I expected to get a lot of queer stares, but I don't think I got any. In fact, at least a dozen different students went out of their way to chat with all of the interviewees that day.

I was most impressed with three things at the school. First, the pre-clinical lab is superb, and starting at the beginning of the second year the students are in the lab 95% of their time. Secondly, during the fourth year, students spend 50% of their time at off-site locations providing dental care. What a great way to get exposure to many different procedures and methodologies. Lastly, the relationship between the administration and the students was really cool. The dean of admissions knew each student at the school by name, and would enter into casual conversation with many of them. Definitely a great atmosphere to spend four years studying."

Gavin,

Do you know what percentage of spots Arizona will fill on Dec 1st? I finished my secondary back in October and I'm still hoping that I might get an invite? Do you think there will any interviews after Dec 1st, or is it too late?

At my interview they said they would send out about 20 acceptance letters on Dec. 1. They are going to consider people after Dec. 1st as well. Good luck.

As was posted, I believe they only send out 20 or so spots on Dec 1., and typically nearly all of those are matriculants.
