Hello, I am a HPSP recipient and currently interested in doing a year of AEGD or GPR after I graduate before doing my committed service. I know that the year of residency does not count towards year that I need to pay back. Do Army AEGD or GPR programs pay officers (if so, how much)? Because I know that you even have to pay for a tuition for some civilian AEGD programs, although those in GPR get paid very little. Thank you.

It will be the same pay as if you didn't do one. So as an O3 with less than 2 yrs = $4027 month (for 2017) + BAH (varies according to location see https://docs.google.com/document/d/146sJkOkLhuwEHRHzy8DU5JsYfjJ0UoVFN1HbC6wXsqY/edit?usp=sharing) + BAS ($253.63) + Dental specialty pay ($1666.67).
So, $68324.04 a yr that is taxed + $15680 (low BAH area w/o dependents in) to $32700 (high BAH w/ dependents) which is non-taxed. As you can see, it varies a lot depending on where you are stationed.

There's no tuition for any residencies in the military - big Army doesn't see you as a "resident", it sees you as a practicing dentist. You get pay the same as if you are sitting around a dental clinic doing general dentistry, which is WAY more than any civilian program
