So I was buying some new loupes today. I was actually really interested in buying a light as well. The salesman said that the army is actually putting in a huge order for lights, so he encouraged me not to buy one. Anyone heard anything similar to this?

If you are in the Army HPSP do not buy the lights unless you are willing to pay for them yourself. The HPSP office will not pay for the additional headset and lights.

The Army might buy you a light once you are on active duty. It is up to the Dentac commander of your post once you are on active duty. The Army bought two of my coworkers lights and everyone else loupes, but not both. So, they might buy you one and they might not, just depends on the what they do at the post you get stationed at.

The Army is buying some lights...I would buy one...don't take the risk of not getting one...I finally bought one last year and it was as valuable as having loupes!
