  1. Pre-Podiatry
I just submitted my app last week and I am now getting emails from army recruiters about becoming a military podiatrist. I would like more information but I do not want to directly contact a recruiter because I don't want to be hounded by them day and night. Is there anybody here with more info on this subject?

Hmm..... this is really interesting. Are you sure the emails you are getting say "podiatrist"? I jumped through all the military hoops to get into the program for next year, but at the last minute the funding get cut.... I'd recheck those emails and if they literally say "army podiatrist" not "army doctor" etc etc, then I'd be baffled. It is my understanding the only program available right now is the HSCP program which you cannot qualify for until you are in residency....

yes you are right, in the emails they do say doctor and not podiatrist. But I did my own short research and found http://www.goarmy.com/careers-and-jobs/amedd-categories/medical-service-corps-jobs/podiatrist.html
This program is designed for those who completed one year of residency. I believe you enter the army as a captain and can work your way to Lt. Col. in ~20 years. I just would like more info if anybody has it

Okay, yeah. I figured as much. You can look into it. I know armypod and Creflo are both pods on the military path. I called the schools and they hooked me up with people in the programs. That being said though, you've got a LONG road ahead of you before you're in your first year of residency.

I think the reason it says the program is for pods who have done one year of residency training is so that pods who graduated several years ago and only did a 1 year residency can join, not so that you can join after your first year of residency now. You'll still have to graduate residency (all 3 years now) before considering the military unless you are looking at the HSCP program that the Navy may offer.
