I was wondering if anyone could give me any information on Army Reservist physician deployment/ mobilization frequency and length - particularly in emergency medicine. I am an Army veteran who is seriously considering going back in as an EM doc in the reserves. If anyone could give me any info on how often we are deploying/ mobilizing, what is the max, are we backfilling or deploying more, etc - it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The Reserves and National Guard docs are under the 90 days boots-in-sand policy, plus up to 30 days total allowed for pre/post deployment. The tempo is approximately every 18-24 months.

If you speak to a recruiter, he can provide you with the policy memo.
