Unlike like a lot of other recent articles which have focused on the exact provisions and why they may/may not reduce healthcare costs, this article suggests that it would not matter if a Republican or Democratic party was shaping healthcare policy. The reasoning is easy enough for the layman to follow and it's pretty short, so I recommend reading it. At the very least, it never hurts to hear another viewpoint you could bring up during interviews.

Health care costs will never decrease because:

1) Insurance companies exist

2) The Internet is ramped with all kinds of shiz for people to fuel their fires (make conditions up, argue with the experts, etc)

3) The American people, as a whole, are generally *****ic when it comes to the most important thing in life - their life. This would include the novel idea that we are responsible for our own lives and at some point we have to be accountable for our lifestyles. In other words, get off your ass and get out the house. Make best friends with a primary care provider and, JFC, stop using the Emergency Room for non Emergent needs.

Hope? Change? Right......😆

America. phuck yeah. We're coming to saving the ** day. America. phuck yeah.

I totally agree, but at the same time a lot of people can ONLY go the the ED for healthcare due to their insurance and/or job. Many low-wage workers are not allowed time off for doctor visits and could not afford to take the day off or many lose their job if they do, so they have to go after-hours to urgent care or the ED. Others only have plans that will cover these visits. So while I disagree with the practice, some people cannot help it.
