*jokes, I'm not into all that.

Article was reposted in the therapist sub, and not deleted this time. Not sure what was different about this post versus the other one, but hey.

Apparently, the parts are spirits now. Who could've predicted that IFS would continue to get weirder.

If I do Level 1 Tier S training for the low, low, price of $20,000, do I also get a Ouija board signed by Schwartz?

That article could have been written in the 80s when all the recovered memory and multiple personality crap was going on. It’s like the more things change, the more they stay the same. Now I know why in the last few years I have had more patients with childhood trauma and/or Borderline PD who are talking a lot about this type of stuff. Two of my most fractured have both realized that the internet is making them worse and are starting to put themselves back together. It helps that I relate to the patients as unitary constructs. As one of my supervisors said in my early training, it’s pretty important to have at least one stable person in the room.

Are we going to get into Kingdom Hearts-level “everyone is 5 different people, and also this one person is simultaneously part of 5 different people, but they’re also not him but they are”?

So IFS is basically having people talk to their inner child and convincing them that someone diddled them? And maybe the diddler was a spirit?

How long before some pedophile claims it was their inner child parts that did it?
