anyone know if the school is interviewing all the way up to dec 1 or do they stop then pick up the interviews after x-mas?
 
any more letters get sent out? rejections, alternate, top group????
 
I interviewed 10/30 and havn't received the status letter yet, but checked on aadsas and saw "recieved/application denied" I guess that's a rejection?
 
redsox08, i saw that you posted in last year's ASDOH thread. did you interview last year at ASDOH also? they didn't send out "top group" letters the previous cycle correct?

just trying to get an idea of how many top group people they acutally would accept. i saw from last year's thread that only ~20 people were accepted on dec 1. that is just ridiculous odds. seems like a lot of ppl on SDN have gotten the top group letter.
 
I interviewed last week, and just got my "alternate list" letter in the mail. I'm a little bothered, but not surprised as I didn't think I gave my best interview. I am pleased, however, that its not a rejection.
 
I got a top group letter from ASDOH yesterday.
 
hey Quack, did they give you any idea on how big the top group is going to be this year?
 
Is the status letter they send you postmarked on your interview day, so they decide right after they interview you?

No, they didn't tell us how many people will be on the Top Group. But, I think I read something on SDN saying that there were gonna be 50 people on the Top Group--that seemed so little to me though.

Yeah, I guess they decide right after they interview you because mine was postmarked two days after my interview. They tell you that they will send them out two weeks after the interview but I have found them to be remarkably diligent about it.
 
50 people in the top group seems small to me also, one person said the school is going to call 90 people for 40 spots, anyone else here this?

I doubt this. At my interview, the lady told me that last year they accepted 90 people total. Their class size was 60, and to fill the class they only accepted 90 the entire cycle.
 
On my interview day, we were told that they call (or email or mail) 90 people to fill 40 seats. The 20 seats left will be for the people who are interviewing b/w DEC and March.
They didn't tell us how many people are in each group but I think from 400 people that they are interviewing they will put 150 in top groups, 50 in alternate and 200 in rejection.
 
at my interview we were told that the top group would be split into two groups, those who are accepted dec 1 and those who will get accepted as spots open up (those who do not accept on dec 1st.). It would seem crazy for them to put people in the top group and then if they werent lucky enough to be one of the 90 people they call, that the school would not even consider them for the final 20 spots. I would say the top group is probably most of the 90 people they are going to call on dec 1st, this is just one way to look at it, but who knows how it really works, i just hope we all get in.

But you know, It is not legal to tell to students that you are accepted before 1st of Dec, That's why in top group letter, they say " you are in one of the top groups"!!! It means that you are in the first group that we call in Dec or the later group!!!
 
Let's start the count down haha! Let's keep this going until Nov 30th, I go first, 15!!!!!
 
For those of you who got the rejection letter, did your AADSAS status page change to rejection or like application denied?
 
just like the question above, if you had an interview and already went, does your aadsas status say "offer accepted"?

I doubt it.
They can't let you know before Nov. 30th. Right?
 
Sounds like a pretty crazy and confusing program to me...

By the way...I don't think there's any geography or current event questions anymore (anyone want to confirm this?)

Look for those current event questions at Midwestern!

I got the same message on my aadsas. Did ASDOH addmission tell you that you are 100% accepted?
 
rejection. Hey so i interviewed there and got rejected right after. What was the point of having me go waste my time and money, why didn't they just reject me straight up? i called and asked why, but they were like, call back in March, and we may be able to tell you then why you were rejected, so u can reapply next year.

so do schools ever let you know why you were rejected? if so, is it like after dec. in spring?

I got the top letter, but my status is "invited for interview" hic..hic...I think I'm in the waiting list for sure...depression!!🙁

Same here and I was so hoping to get an acceptance from there Dec. 1. Oh well.
 
top group letter recipient also....but status still says "invited for interview". DARN! lets hope that they get through the entire top group when sending out interviews post dec 1st!
 
This is what aadsas replied in regard to my yesterday email:
"
[FONT=Arial (W1)]*We strongly suggest that you contact the dental school regarding further clarification in regards to that status message that is posted on your application..
[FONT=Arial (W1)].

So I called the school and they told me that it means my " application" is complete. It doesn't mean that I am accepted.

I called ASDOH today too. They told me that the status change on AADSAS doesn't mean an acceptance and we should all wait for their phone call on Dec 1

How about offer denied? Does that mean anything? lol
Just not being able to accept the fact that I'm rejected 3 days after interview.
 
Hey guys. My status went from offer accepted back to invited for interview today. Did anyone else experience this?

Hey prettysmile. I called ASDOH about my status change and they said not to worry about it. I am not sure why they changed it though.

Mine changed back to invited for interview as well. We'll all know for sure come Dec 1st. Good luck everyone!

They told us at my interview that they would be coming to the school on saturday dec. 1st to make the calls. What makes you think they are calling on Nov 30th??
 
they said dec 1st (saturday) they would be making calls before the ADEA allowed schools to notify sutdents this year on friday nov 30. now that the approval has been made, i think the staff at ASDOH would rather work on a friday than a saturday. goooooodluck guys!
 
I asked them during interview. They are going to call on Friday!!
 
aadsas has put up the "status" of our applications at each school again. for those of you who had the "offer made" about a week ago....does it say it NOW??? or does it still say "invited for interview"?

if it says OFFER MADE congrats to you all. mine still says "invited for interview" and i had recieved a top group letter. i know calls will be going out later today but just wanted to get a head start on finding out because the intrigue is killing me! damn the 3 hour time difference!!!!
 
mine says offer made, and yes it did say offer accepted a while back. good luck.

Congrats to these having offer made!!!! i guess if u got "offer made" before, it appears again this time, right? well...I'm in waitlisted then....how disappointed 😡
