So, I have an interview here next week and I was looking through the interview feedback. I noticed some pretty oddball questions and tasks, like give a 10 minute presentation on good dental characteristics, name 8 world leaders, or name the vice president of the U.N. These were asked a while back (other than then presentation one), but I was wondering if anyone who interviewed there recently got some eyebrow-raising questions?

I interviewed there last week, and there weren't any oddball questions asked during my interview at least. Others I cannot speak for but we did have a peg-board task and a 2 min not 10 min group presentation. Good luck!

I'm pretty sure they stopped doing those "oddball" questions a few years back. For the most part, the questions are normal, unless they have dental students drop in to the interview for kicks--then, those students pretty much ask whatever they want...hopefully relating to dentistry. Haha, I was asked what I like to cook, or something to that effect, but at least it was still about me, right?

Don't be nervous, it's pretty chill. And the food was delicious! So enjoy ;-)

They don't try to grill you, but they do try to throw you off guard a little...like someone was asked which member out of his group presentation he would wanna have as a fellow student...that's kind of a tight situation to be in...because pretty much, he was being asked, which interview candidate is better than the other and why, and that could unnecessarily jeopardize the person answering the question, and the people who weren't used as their answer. (Sorry if that came out convoluted)

I wasn't asked that question, but someone else told me that they were.

I'll try to post again if I remember more about my interview there. It's like thanksgiving break has put a block in my head that prevents me from remembering what happened before it, haha.

I just had my interview today and thought I'd share my experience. I had an afternoon interview, so the day started with lunch with D1-d3 students. They were really helpful and you could ask them anything about anything. Then we went on a tour of the dental classrooms and facilities. Next we met with Jim Bell the assistant dean who was super laidback and nice, describing the school as very "west coast" and laid back. That truly is the vibe at ASDOH. The interview panel is good, I had Cottom (name?) and khanh chu. Dr. Chu (a girl) was extremely nice and made me feel very comfortable. The guy was a little intimidating and asked way harder questions. Questions are very general, know the basics and know your application/personal statement/ASDOH application well. They quiz you on those. The other interviewers asked more hypothetical questions like "what would you do if you saw someone cheating?" Their interview seemed easier... Just what I heard. This is a laid back interview day, so don't stress. Be prepared. I interviewed at LECOM in FL and this interview went better. The interview is 1 on 1 and about 25 minutes-half hour.
