Just got my first rejection letter from ASDOH! I guess it just comes with the territory... 😱

really? your stats are good though! but they are big on community service, did you have a lot of that in ur app?
 
no community service, so i am pretty sure it's due to that... but life goes on 🙂

How long did it take for them to get back to you after your application was complete? Mine was just completed and sent for review on friday, so I am just curious.

AADSAS mailed 7/31 and rejection letter dated 9/9.

The letter didn't specifically say. All it said was that they were unable to give me an interview. I'm guessing it's my DAT scores, because I think I have pretty decent community service. Ah well.
 
I cannot understand their admission process. I asked why I was rejected, and I was told that I need to wait the cycle is over. You guys are not only one rejected. They accept 54/3000. If you are out of state, the ratio becomes 30/more than 2000. Good luck with other school's application 👍.
 
Yea i got a rejection letter too today... and lord behold i had tons of extra curricular activities and community services in dentistry in parts of third world countries...but i guess my 3.4 gpa with a 18AA aint good enough for ASDOH...what else do they want from me🙁...and oh by the way im an OOS.
 
my gpa is worst than yours and if you got rejected then maybe i should start preparing for the future...

well... i'm guessing my letter should be arriving very soon.

3.3 gpa and 19/19/22. I have quite a bit of volunteer work, but it seems that I might be in the same boat as you all.
 
i have 8 interviews out of the 10 i applied to, and ive already been rejected at asdoh.... and i have a lot of extra curric/volunteer too.. who knows what they're scheming over there

How many words did you have total for each essay of the secondary?

I'm here to finally join the club. Just received my rejection in the mail.
 
BOOOO ASDOH!!! Who needs to live in Arizona anyway... I got my rejection two days ago. 🙁
 
I got an interview invite from ASDOH today in my e-mail... I didn't do super well on the DAT, 19's mostly plus good scores on PAT and RC... maybe they focus more on those two sections?

I got a 24 PAT and 26 RC and got rejected already. Granted, my GPA sucks, but still...

Those are my favorite fruits. Not too shabby.
 
I'm now part of the ASDOH reject club twice. I even interviewed last cycle with them (Pre december 1st) If anything I have only improved my application and applied earlier. I have 200+ hours of service ,100+ included in a dental clinic. Last year my application was late. Oh well I'm not too bitter and am gratful for the interviews I do have. They are just so particular on how they pick their students. For example in the interview they have you do a peg board test and count how many pegs you can put in the small holes in a certain amount of time etc... But they might not even be concerned about how many pegs you can put in the board, but how you react to the test. Also they have you work as a group to do a presentation. I've heard rumors that those individuals who take initiation (not necessarily trying to do everything) are unfavored as selected candidates. I'm not sure if anybody else has heard this or if I'm just blowing smoke. Well for those who have interviews congrats!! I will never forget my rejection from last year.

You're saying ASDOH dislikes applicants who take initiative? That doesn't make sense. Could you expand/elaborate?
 
Were the rejections sent out via email or snail mail?
 
i just called arizona today to check the status of my app. n i pleastantly informed that i was rejected!!!! i was shocked!!!!! 100 of shadowin, 200+ in extra curric and volunteerin!!! gpa 3.57, n pat 16 ts 19 aa 19!!! very shocked!
 
I am planning to add ADSOH to my list of schools. Do you think I have a chance there or I just will be wasting my money? Thanks!

My GPA is 3.6 overall and 3.5 for science
I have more than 500 hours of volunteering and doing my job shadowing with two dentists. I also have several years of working experience in the hospital (medical).

DAT scores:
Bio-21
G chem- 23
O chem- 20 (didn't answered two questions, ran out of time)
PAT- 17 (ran out of time)
RC -18 (ran of time)
QR-12 (complete mental shut down)
TS-22
AA-19
 
Got my rejection today(first one) and im shocked too... alot of community service 300+ shadowing 3.55 sci 3.25overall(damn retaken classes its 3.49 on my transcript) 19/21/22. Actually im not too shocked cuz my stats arent that great but i really wanted to go to ASDOH cuz they are so cheap. Oh well
 
I don't know why I got a rejection ... probably my GPA??? or my volunteer (100hr) ??? Don't understand..... who are they looking for as a candidate?
 
I think ASDOH does not like UCI students.Of course it is a joke 🙂.I am wondering what they are looking for too.
 
My best friend got an interview at ASDOH. He is from UCI, his stat is 3.5, 20AA but he is a founder of UNICEFF at UCI. So i think leadership is important to them.
I heard the odd of getting accepted there is extremely low, since they interview 400+ and accept only 50 people. Corrected me if i am wrong

That 12 will make it so you can't meet the minimum requirements to apply to some schools, and I don't know if ASDOH has a DAT cutoff so you better tcheck that first. But obviously we have no idea what they look for in a candidate so your guess is as good as ours.

What number did you call?? I called and all they said was that my app. was forwarded to the dental school (I thought I had called the dental school but apparently not).
 
Add me to the ASDOH rejection list! Came today in the mail. Boo!
 
I bet they are looking at this thread with amusement as our confusion grows 😀

If they are so big on community services, why even invite us for secondaries & fee and then reject us?
