Hello everyone 🙂

I was just wondering if anyone has heard anything from ASDOH regarding second-round of acceptances/how many might get accepted? Thanks a lot for your help!! 😀

Decisions are due back on the 16th; be patient!

Where did you hear the 16th? That's Monday but it MLK day so I can't imagine they'll be letting people know that day. Hopefully soon after that though the wait is killing me!!!

That is when my Dec acceptance letter says I have to decide by.

When I spoke with Azra in admissions before the holidays she mentioned that they had made about 60 offers on Dec 1st. According to the other thread it was something like 56 or 57. They each have around a month from what I understand to place their deposit. She said the committee would meet after the holidays and send out another round of offers middle to end of January. She also said they have about 80 in the "top choice" category right now. Clearly they add more as they continue to interview into march or april so who knows what the odds really are if you're in that top category. What I'm curious is whether or not that 80 in the "top choice" included those who have already been offered seats or is there 80 in addition to the 50+ that have been offered seats. I just thought I'd share what I'd heard. Azra in admissions is awesome and will answer as many questions as she can. The waiting game isn't fun but hopefully we all hear something soon!

Hmm, my take is that the 80 would be in addition to the 50+ that have already been offered seats. I really hope my take is wrong though lol. Also I don't think we'll be hearing back on MLK day if that is when the others have their decisions due. Probably a little after that though. Lets keep our fingers crossed though! They seem to be pretty quick with doing things, and Azra is really the best..she is so helpful!

Does anyone know when the adcom is supposed to be meeting?

I spoke with admissions and found out that the "top choice" list now has 46 people on it. I'm really hoping there is still a chance to get in!

I just received an interview but thinking of turning it down .Just letting people know that they are still conducting interviews so I guess more people can get into the "top group". thought I would toss it out there

Thanks for the heads up, I would love to interview there! 🙂

When was your interview date going to be if you would have accepted it?

I just interviewed there on 1/26, right before the committee met on Jan 31. I was fortunate enough to be accepted on Feb 1, but here is info for you out there who are interviewing later/thinking about pulling out interview/etc.

During my interview, I was informed there were 21 seats left (they had 55 deposits). They said the committee was getting together on Jan 31 (for the late dec/jan interviews) and would be offering about half(give or take) of the 21 spots left. So please if you are interviewing dont think it's for a waitlisted spot. ASDOH does not interview for waitlisted people, if they are interviewing there are still spots left.

If you are waitlisted, yes there are a number of people on that list however they are "ranked" by priority so it would be good if you interviewed to check and find out if you did not get accepted. Hope this helps someone out there and good luck all. Take it from me, the whole process is not pleasant but once you get that offer....all that hard work and stress makes it worth the while!

Hey,

So I was also just offered an interview spot in February and was wondering if anyone could tell me a bit more about the interview process? I am from Canada so I would be flying in for this interview only and any help on what to expect would be great!

Hopefully I'm not too late and I'm sure you may have found additional info already regarding the ASDOH interview but I'll throw this in there to maybe help a little. I interviewed there in October and its actually pretty enjoyable. A little stressful of course, but the staff and faculty do a really great job of making you feel comfortable and relaxed. There is a tour, a presentation on financial aid, a presentation on the school in general and then more specifically the 4th year clinical rotations. There are a few things that you can prep for. There is a pegboard test using pegs and washers to evaluate your manual dexterity. There is a small group exercise with about 3-4 other applicants where they give you a topic to discuss and nail down certain characteristics and then you present those as a group to the other interviewees. You have your individual session with 2 faculty and 1 student (at least that's how we had it set up). They have 3 or 4 questions on a paper and you just answer them. They ask you some additional questions in between and give you the opportunity to ask them any questions. There is an optional tour of the whole campus and then your free to go. Now none of this is in the correct order but hopefully it gives you an idea of what to expect. I think there are a few forums that even have some of the specific questions they ask. Its really not bad though and I felt a lot more relaxed than I thought I would going into it. They have a great faculty, great students and a great school that make you feel comfortable and allow you to really be yourself. Good luck and hopefully this isn't posted too late!
