I was really hoping it would somehow be possible to interview at both Arizona schools by using only one flight but that doesn't look like its going to be possible. Does anyone out there know which school would be better to interview at or have experience interviewing at both? Obviously i'd like to interview at the one I have a better chance getting into but I also want to take into account which school is more successful, has better equipment and resources, and also if glendale or mesa is a better city to live in.

How many service hours to underserved communities do you have? That is probably the most important factor for ASDOH needing 500+ on average I believe. I don't think Midwestern has that policy. They are both relatively new and have good equipment. I would rather live near ASDOH but would probably rank Midwestern over it in every other sense.

I'm under the impression that both schools are just outside of Phoenix, so location-wise I think it's the same.

I lived in Mesa and Gilbert, AZ. Very nice places. ASDOH is on the border of those two cities east of Phoenix. Midwestern is about an hour away from ASDOH west of Phoenix. Its about 30-40 minutes from the airport to either school. So they are both suburbs of Phoenix but my opinion is ASDOH is a little nicer area to live around.

Live by ASDOH. Go to MWU. I don't think either area is terrible to live in. Phoenix is a big, flat place and you have access to whatever you need from either place. Some places in Mesa are sketchy, some places in Glendale area sketchy. The area around both campuses is alright. MWU, I think, is better...more developed. ASDOH feels like a business park in the middle of a dirt field...with a YMCA (see google satellite image if you think I'm exaggerating). MWU is a campus of only health students and more developed immediately surrounding the school.

I think both programs are solid. Philosophies are different, but you'll come out strong regardless of program.

I think you have better odds of interviewing and being accepted at MWU.
