Asked to write my own LOR

So I'm currently finishing up my 4 week psych elective. I really liked it. I think I've performed strongly and the staff I've worked with have also commented on the same. I asked my attending for a letter of reference for psych residency today, and he essentially said to write my own and send it over. Is this allowed? I don't even known where to begin with writing a letter. I' nervous because this letter is important for me (as an IMG) and like I said I think I did well. Can anyone help?

You know you are going to write it so brag about yourself enough to give your attending a mild crindge, not so much that he changes it, just enough so he pays for his lazyness. Congratulations on the strong rotation performance.
