I have a professor I emailed and then met back in May who said he would write me an LOR, and said to remind him in June if he hadn't done it yet. I sent him an email June 4th...and 25th...and never got a response. Tried calling him and he never answered. I'm not sure how much longer to wait...so is it ok at this point to try finding another professor to write me an LOR, and if I do so, would I just send the other professor an email saying that I wasn't sure if he was out of town/busy since I didn't get a response, so I had to ask someone else? 😕

go ahead and contact several profs. always make a contingency plan. (and even contingencies for the contingency 😎) remember, you don't have to use all your LORs (at least I didn't coming from a school with no committee letter and using VirtualEvals).

Why does it have to be an either/or proposition? Just ask another professor to write you a letter. If the original professor never gets it done, you're still good to go. If he does, then you've got another letter you can send.

Oh, it's because I already have 5 letters (the prof that isn't responding is my 2nd science letter, which is why I need it), so if they both do it I have more than 6 which is the max. But I think my school just files the 7th letter, if it comes in, it and counts it as inactive...so I guess I'll just go ahead and email another professor. Thanks for the advice everyone.
