Has anyone emailed an Admissions Committee post-secondary to demonstrate further enthusiasm for their program and, subsequently, receive an interview invitation?

What prompts me to ask is that I received a letter from AZCOM stating "your application for the Class of 2019 is on hold pending possible future interview invitation." I will soon implore them for further consideration, but I will also do the same for a couple of other schools I have yet to hear back from. Is there anybody who can maybe shed some light on what might be appropriate/advisable to say to them?

When were you complete for AZCOM, and what date was the letter?

I was complete early/mid september, still haven't heard anything.

Complete at AZCOM early/mid august, no hold or rejection notification either...

Short of going onto campus and punching the Dean, I can think of no faster way to get your app moved to the bottom of the pile.

Patience is a virtue, the need for instant gratification is not.

While I was on a pre-interview hold, I updated one school I was interested in with an update about my grades in the fall semester and a short note indicating that I was still very interested in interviewing at the program. I did get the interview eventually.

I sent this in about three or four months after being put on hold, and only contacted the school that one time.

Such a classic quote...this should be turned into a meme of some sort.

There are PLENTY of ways to experience instant gratification (by yourself or with a partner), but the process of getting into medical school isn't one of them.

I love being humbled. That why I like @Goro and that's why I think becoming a physician is perfect for me. But it is true that I was advised by a CCOM adviser, as well as a student at AZCOM, that following up to show continued interest was encouraged.

Yes, but an update letter including new course grades is different than just imploring for further consideration.

What I mean is that there is a real difference between
A) "at the end of the Fall semester, I earned a further 15 credits with a semester GPA of 3.75. My unofficial transcript is attached. I remain very interested in ___ and appreciate your further consideration."
and
B) "Please let me in!"

Some schools are strict about the updates they allow (Albany comes to mind), so it's up to you to decide what is appropriate or not.

Agreed. For starters, I was thinking of describing a specific program of theirs and talk about my interest and credentials for being a part of it. Secondly, I was going to update them with my new volunteer activity and promotions at work as an ER Scribe. Weak, I know, which is why I came to you guys.
