In a few weeks I will be visiting family in the cities that contains a medical school that I have applied to. I would like to contact them and let them know that I will be in town for a possible interview.

How do you go about doing this? Who do you ask, the director of admissions? Does one call them directly or can I email them with this request?

Any info would be appreciated.

you might try searching, because i know there have been other threads about this.

i just e-mailed the various offices of admissions, saying i would be travelling nearby, and wanted to find out whether i would be offered an interview, etc. etc.

some are happy to help, others don't seem to care.

tell us what school/s you're talking about, and you might get some firsthand stories.......

I would call the schools and ask if they can consider having you drop by for an interview. Don't expect anything to happen but you might be pleasantly surprised. I called SLU because I am going to be in th Saint Louis area on Dec. 9 and they scheduled me for an interview on Dec. 10. SOmetimes it works out and sometimes it doesn't. I think it helps if your file is in review. Also if you are talking about Thanksgiving time it might not work because they might be booked and then again it might because plane tickets are expensive and nobody wants to interview close to a holiday.😱
