I saw a similar threed in the pre-allopathic forum, so I thought I would pose the question over here. Has anyone sucessfully emailed or sent an update letter asking for an interview?

The osteopathic school that I consider my top choice based off of their website and stuff they have sent me has not invited me for an interview. Would it be weird if I sent an update letter and more or less asked for an interview? I figure it's so late in the interview season, what could it hurt?

On another note, I posted a while back complaining about my DO LORs not being in yet. He finally sent them in this week. Maybe this will help me get a couple more interviews.

hi!

i think its a great idea for you to send an update letter. Just write a brief paragraph stating anything new you have been doing since applying and ask them to seriously consider you for an interview. It couldn't hurt! If you are worried they will get irritated by such a letter, call the admissions office and ask them if its okay (for the most part it is). I know that CCOM and AZCOM do welcome update letters. I am writing one myself write this minute =) Best of luck!
