I'm wanting to move to a certain city for a few months. I don't really know if I'd go there if I got in, but I interviewed at a medical school in that same city with a guy that does research right up my ally. The school hasn't returned a decision on me yet but I think I got along with my interviewer reasonably well.

My question is, since I don't have any other contacts in the whole city, would it be silly of me to contact my interviewer and ask him if he knows of any possible jobs with the school? He did give me his card and tell me to contact him if I had any questions. I'd wait until I knew whether I got in or not, but it's going to be several weeks yet.

i dont think there is any harm in asking. does the school have a website that lists all the faculty member's research interests? i would just look at that and contact those people directly. is this a research job you are looking for>?
