Asking Professor from Past University for Recommendation

Hey guys, hope you can help me out a little bit.

I transferred to another university this past fall, but want had a good relationship with a professor from my previous university. She was also my lab instructor, but she has a Ph.D and is a full-time professor at the university. Would that be an acceptable letter of recommendation?
