do you guys think it would be a good idea to ask a lit professor to proofread my personal statement? I taken her and I was pretty active in class so I'm hoping she still remember me but it was like a year ago.

at my university you could drop off your ps at the career center and they would proof read for free. you should check your career center on campus~

I think it is a good idea. I had two professors proofread my PS. I had my English prof. proofread it first. Then I went to my Anatomy prof. who helped me out a lot! Profs are a great help 🙂

I'm a creative writer, but I'm not really good with all the technicalities that go with it so I knew I had to have someone check mine even though it's personal stuff.

yeh true there is writing center but school don't start until like 18th for me and I want to get it out of the way now.

The first option would be to take it to the writing center like someone else pointed out. But if school isn't in session right now, I'd take a stab at saying the professor probably wouldn't take a look at your personal statement at the moment.

It couldn't hurt to try though.
