I was just awarded a 25,000/yr scholarship from one school that I'm considering. However, I'm still considering another school (and I'm kind of leaning toward this one), which I haven't heard anything about financial aid or scholarships from. This school's second look is this Friday. Is it appropriate to contact this school and ask if they would match that scholarship? Or should I wait and talk to the financial aid representative at their second look?
I'll be hearing about the rest of my financial aid package from the school that already gave me the scholarship later this week, so should I wait to contact the other school until I have that information?
Thank you for your help! Obviously med school is expensive and if I could reduce my debt I'd be very happy!

Congratulations on your scholarship offer. I'd ask the financial aid person at your second-look in a private conversation, but I'd also check with some of the students who are already there about the likelihood that such matching could occur. It's possible that there isn't much money, but you never know if someone they wanted dropped a scholarship offer. Everyone is aware about the issue of student debt, but schools want their seats filled too.
