Does it matter when you assign schools, assuming that MCAT is not available yet? I've heard that schools don't even look until they have everything, but I submitted my primary last week and got a small message from the school I assigned. It was just informational, but it said they knew I was applying.

The reason I ask is because I have taken the MCAT twice, once in June and once in July. I may have done significantly better in July. I was planning on seeing how I did in June, and assigning all my schools if I did well, but waiting until my July scores come out if I didn't. Is this a bad idea? The MCAT should be the strongest part of my application, the only thing in question being the PS from June.

Also, all of my letters aren't in yet (waiting on my schools office to process the last one).

Schools will know that you have applied, but your primary application will not be considered complete until you have an MCAT score in. You can submit your primary for verification even while you are waiting for an MCAT score, and I highly recommend doing so. Waiting for your July score to come in will make your application very, very late.

I have already submitted my primary, I have just only designated one school. I'm wondering if it will matter when schools get notice that I have applied (because I designate them), if they haven't gotten the complete primary yet cause they are still waiting on verification/MCAT/letters.

We're not thinking about it that hard.
