I am a pre-med student in the midst of choosing a major. I have a disadvantage that I created about 6 years ago when I was 18. I ruined my GPA. Now that I have decided what it is that I want to do (MEDICINE!!), I have earned mostly As and some Bs. Now, do you recommend that I choose Option (1) Psychology as my major and get mostly A's to help my GPA and finish my required pre-med courses (1yr each of Bio, Chem, OChem, Physics), option (2) Psychology as my major, finish my required pre-med courses and take Genetics, Population Biology and Cell Biology or option (3) which is take up Biology as my major, have a lower GPA but have taken all the upper division Biology, Physiology, Anatomy, etc.

Which will help the most in my admission to medical school (as a result of better GPA & MCAT score)

Your advice is so truly appreciated!

Thanking you in advance...

You need to ask this question in the pre-allo forum. I'll answer after it gets moved. Since you're new, you may not have realized, but the allo forum is for questions and discussions related to medical school, not getting in. But most the med students also check the pre- forums to answer questions, so you should have no problems getting opinions there.

I'm closing this thread because it was also posted in pre-allo. Onmywaythere>> SDN doesn't like for you to post the same thread in multiple forums. Just find the forum it belongs in and stick it there.
Thanks and welcome to SDN!

That's so cool. Thank you and others who are cooperating with keeping the Allopathic Forum on track with topics.
