If an investigator is ready to publish a "significant" clinical/scientific finding after the official ASTRO abstract deadline has passed, then the abstract committee has the discretion to allow them to be published in the "late breaking" category.

Abstracts selected for the 49th ASTRO Annual Meeting are in the final assignment process for oral presentation, poster discussion and poster-only sessions. Notification of abstract disposition will be e-mailed by June 10. ASTRO will begin accepting late-breaking abstracts through its online submission site in early August.
