What is a "Late Breaking Abstract"? Thanks

If an investigator is ready to publish a "significant" clinical/scientific finding after the official ASTRO abstract deadline has passed, then the abstract committee has the discretion to allow them to be published in the "late breaking" category.
49th Annual Meeting Accepted Abstract Notification and Late-breaking Abstract Submission
Abstracts selected for the 49th ASTRO Annual Meeting are in the final assignment process for oral presentation, poster discussion and poster-only sessions. Notification of abstract disposition will be e-mailed by June 10. ASTRO will begin accepting late-breaking abstracts through its online submission site in early August. Original abstracts of important late-breaking scientific research results after the April 12, 2007, submission deadline may be submitted for consideration until September 5, 2007.
