Do we really need two threads for the same damn topic? I'm sure pre-pharm students are smart enough to look into the Pharmacy sub-forum once in awhile and stumble upon the first thread. Give me a break.

What do you gain from always coming on here and telling us were making bad decisions?

I'd only like to inform people who are not keeping up with the situation. Nothing to be gained here for me. Just helping.

Also, I only want to tell you the news, not what you must do for yourself. In fact, you see that I did not tell you to do anything in the original post. Everyone's personal situation is different, but the facts/news there are all the same for us. YOU are the only who could decide what is best for your situation, now that you are informed. If YOU are thinking that you are making bad decisions, you might probably be right.

I do not think so. You think too highly of yourself and pre-pharmers these days. If you do not like my posts, go play with yourself instead yelling at me for trying to help pre-pharmers to make informed decisions. You do not own SDN !!

Hey oldstock, what's the point? They all the think they're the exception so...let them show it. You owe nothing to them. Actually I prefer not to warn anyone anymore, if they have half a brain they should have looked at all issues concerning this field already.

You are def right on this one !!

A store I interned at tried something like this. To call it a disaster would be an understatement.

Telling me to go play with myself and saying that I don't own SDN says leaps and bounds about your immaturity. If you want to be taken seriously, you might want to restrain yourself from making childish comments. Just my $0.02.

You should take your own advice. You should look at your original post and check yourself in the mirror. You reap what you plan. But this is the last time I respond to you.

I really don't care if you read this or not, but anyways... I should check my eyes for sure. It wasn't the second thread on the same topic, but the third one. Does the pharmacy forum really need 3 threads pertaining to the same topic? Use some common sense.

this vending machine might work well on a college campus, but probably not that great anywhere else. College students have simpler health profiles and are better able to figure computers without assistance. I have to laugh at the idea that vending machines will replace pharmacies however.

1. people at pharmacies have too many problems that could not be answered at a vending machine: billing, special NDCs, etc.

2. My pharmacy runs an extremely diverse array of medications from specialty to infertility to compounding. Many of the packages in a pharmacy couldn't fit in a machine: golytely, lovenox, etc. Many medications are simply too expensive to keep stocked in a vending machine. Would you really want to put Lantus, tacrolimus, or Humira in one of those machines?

3. Pediatric meds couldn't be done: oral compounds, antibiotic suspensions, liquid medications.

4. The only thing that would work is prepacked drugs like birth control, antibiotics, antidepressants, skin cream, acyclovir, etc.

I can't imagine the amount of chaos this machine would cause. It is not prepped to handle the quantity of problems retail customers tend to have. Can you imagine the typical "I was shorted on oxycodone" type question?
