ATSU Secondary?

I'm currently filling out my secondary for ATSU KCOM and I got to the "Evaluations" section. My UG doesn't have a pre-med committee so the secondary says I can submit a letter from a pre-med advisor (i have one of those).

I assume I would just put in his/her information in the fields and then send the letter with interfolio? Do I need to have them fill out the evaluation form then? It's a little confusing to me because on the evaluation form it says "Please submit this evaluation form or a packet/letter...". So obviously I can just send the letter, but now I feel like it won't be what ATSU really wants...

Should I contact my advisor and have them fill out the form and then also send their letter?



I haven't gotten to SOMA's secondary yet, but I assume it will be the same or similar (I did contact KCOM and they said only one set of letters needs to be sent to KCOM instead of one set to each campus)

All my letters were sent through VirtualEvals, and all I did was fill out the secondary (For SOMA, not KCOM) and they were able to receive the letters and place them correctly. Especially because my letters were sent as a packet (Apparently, after calling another college, my rec letters came out to be around 10 pages) Just fill out the ATSU form and then send the letters through Interfolio. I am not sure how Interfolio works, though, but also, it wouldn't hurt if you just contacted the school as well.

I went ahead and filled it out with my MD letter. I want to get my secondaries in sooner rather than later, and I know my MD letter will be fantastic (~10 yr relationship with the physician, >100 hrs shadowing in clinic, rounds, and OR multiple times, and the doc is the asst. dean for a COM in my state) so in the off chance that the DO i shadowed won't write me even a generic letter, I would rather my application be complete with a really good MD letter instead of waiting around to send it.

I don't think I used ATSU's eval forms. I just sent the letters and filled out the boxes on the secondary as best I could. Applicable to both SOMA and KCOM.

Same, thanks. I don't get why some schools do this. Most applicants are working on getting their letters before they even start filling out their primary, so how would they really know if one of the schools they are going to be applying to would prefer a form instead of a letter? There really should be some standardization.

Yeah, the secondary could definitely use an update. Your ACT/SAT scores are pretty irrelevant but there's still a box on the form for that...
