Does anyone know of other dental schools (besides Temple) that require mandatory attendance in lecture??
I understand for a lab... but what is the point?? Everybody learns in a different way, let the people that want to go and ask questions do that, and let the others do whatever they want. Classes are recorded anyway.

It isn't like we are still in kindergarten, if it isn't a lab or require patient contact why do we need to be there. We still are responsible for the same material.

If you do not like the guidelines/requirements/rules regarding mandatory attendance in lecture or any other rules, you may want to consider changing to another school where you will not be treated as a kinder.

1. Chose to come here for the clinical excellence, not for the amazing lectures
2. Do people really transfer? I thought that doesn't happen.
3. Nothing beats in state tuition...

Iowa requires lecture attendance. The classes at the med school are. It required and probably half or maybe a little less skip. It kind of sucks sometimes. Just get on facebook or study for something else in those lectures.

it's probably because the PhDs don't like speaking to an audience of 10 people in a room meant for 100 people...

Yep, I was going to say Iowa.

Forces me to actually get up and go to class.

The triviality of your complaint makes me think you should revisit kindergarten.

You're going to be a doctor. Earn it. Suck it up.
