Ok so getting straight to the point here.. If I attend a foreign medical school, will I be allowed to sit for the USMLE and practice in the US? Obviously I know that everyone has to pass the USMLE before they can practice medicine in the US, but does your MD degree also have to come from a pre-approved school or country? If so where can I find this list? I know if you go to school at a Canadian medical school or at a school in the Caribbean that you would be allowed to sit for the USMLE and practice in the US, but what if I attended a Russian medical school for example?? I don't want to waste my time, effort, and money applying to a program that won't ever allow me to have any chance of working in the US, but I love the idea of going to a foreign med school and getting the opportunity to live abroad for a while. So is the only requirement that you must obtain an MD degree? Or are there a list specific schools that have to meet the standards of the board of medicine?

If you want to practice in the US, go to a US med school.

Visit Russia during your time off. Going there for med school just because you want to travel is idiotic and will get you nowhere.
