I have an October rotation in Chicago in EM and was wondering what the take is on student's participating in EMRA / ACEP events during their rotations. Is it feasible to work shifts around these dates or ask for specific times off in order to attend student events? I think it would be worth it even if I can only go for two of the four days.

You should definitely go to the residency fair so you can meet with residents/faculty/PDs of programs you are interested in. That is the Sunday before the conference from 2-5pm.

Also, it's only $90 for the whole conference, so you should be able to get in a number of lectures, regardless of what your schedule is. But I'd bet that they'd be happy to work with you on your schedule so you can attend several days. It's worth a try. The conferences are great, especially for networking.
