I'm interested in either pursuing general surgery or anesthesia. Some people have indicated that anesthesiologists work more hours than most people think. I know it is very practice/location dependent, but how many hours do most attending anesthesiologists work per week? Also, in your general opinion do anesthesiologists work less hours than general surgeons on average? Thanks for any insight into deciding between these two specialties!
