It's not a difficult commute. You get on a train and "commute". You drive over the bridge, or walk over the bridge and "commute". It's not the stone age. RAAARRRRRRRRR

Pretty reasonable, although I can't stand to be on a subway more than 30 minutes per trip.

brookyln, queens and the bronx is not that far. it takes about 30 minutes to an hour to get to nyu. but in any case...is it really worth it? it you are paying cheap rent then you are probably living in an unsafe neighborhood....good neighborhoods in queens and brooklyn cost less than manhattan. but if you want to have a social life or think you will be getting home alot after midnight...its not worth it.

in manhattan if you are lucky you can find studios for around 1000-1200. my friend found one for 950. i just got a two bedroom in Nolita for 2200....in any case its much cheaper than any NYU housing. if you live in the city...your commute is about probably less than 30 minutes considering if you do not live in the far reaches of upper east or upper west. good luck to all.

???? First year housing at NYU is $575 a month.

NYU can be a tough commute from any outer-borough. It's at least a 10 minute walk from a subway, and being on the 6 doesn't exactly get you off the island quickly. When I worked at Bellevue and lived in Brooklyn I needed three trains and 50 minutes to get home.

it really depends how far you live from a subway station and which subway line. the parts of brooklyn that are closest to manhattan (williamsburg, park slope, etc) are getting more expensive to live in. i would recommend against it.

Sure, $575 to share an apartment with three other dudes. $2200 is not bad for your own two bedroom, which you can split any way you choose.

oh. im getting NYU graduate housing confused with NYU medical school housing. NYU graduate housing runs from 1200-1500 a month!!! i think that they give medical students a big break.

I was just at NYU Medical Center a few days ago and a friend of a friend goes there so I got to see the dorms. The dorms are apartment style and they even have kitchenettes in them and everything. It would be awesome to go there for med school.

That's true of Greenberg and Skirball but not Rubin. Rubin is about 20/floor 1 bathroom, 1 kitchen. Most MS1's live there and it's supposed to be a blast. Each room is kinda big with sinks in each room.
