According to a published AAMC guideline, revised in 2006:
"A grade of fail in a course should be a permanent grade; it should not be replaced on a transcript by a subsequent passing grade for the course after the course has been remediated or repeated."
My question is this:
To those who have ever remediated immediately after the block (or, if your school doesn't give the option, over the summer) and passed, did your original U or F show up on your transcript?
If you've been through the match and have any insight as to how one such mark in your preclinical grades affects the match process, please offer your two cents.
