I am South Korean, and I am apply for 2007 cycle. I heard it is hard for international students to get in dental school than other us citiziens or green card holder. If you guys do not mind I want to know;

-GPA
-DAT score
-School applied
-School accepted
-Other advise for application

Thank you very much and I appreciate a lot 😍

That is actually true. I had to wait till my status changed from an international student to Legal Perm. Resident. I would advise the same to you. If you can't, apply only to private schools and have someone who is willing to co-sign the loans documents. You need to prove that you have the financial resources available. GPA anything about 3.0 is competive, Bachelors is preferred but not neccessary. DAT, get all above 20 and you will have a solid app. Good luck

p.s. like everyone says, apply early (meaning have your app complete by June of 2006).

with great scores, you will have no problem getting into any private schools.

I'm also an international student (korean) who applied this yr
and I'll share my stats

GPA : 3.72
DAT : 22 AA 22 TS 19 PAT
School applied : 15 (14 private, 1 public)
School accepted : 3
Advise: Apply ASAP!!
I submitted my application to AADSAS on October (damn late)
and started my interviews from mid Feburary.
I'm sure that I was pretty late for this cycle. If I had applied on july
or something like that, I might hadbetter chance.
Anyway I'm so glad that I got into Dental school.

Good luck~

Thank you SOOOOO much for sharing. I am very surprized that with your gpa and DAT you only accepted 3. It seems like there is no hope for me 🙁
Well I am planning to retake end of June and I am worry I am not be able to apply early. I am so paranoid now.

I don't know what topics appeared on your RC, but there's a finance passage in DAT Achiever very similar to the real thing. Its QR section also carry good questions including those conversion problems you saw on the test. The SNS and PAT are especially a lot more challenging than the real things. And they all come with excellent explanations and 3D animated stuffs... You should use it and treat it like real exams to prepare for your next retake.

Hey, apply early and have your score sent to them when you retake the DAT in June that way, all they would be waiting for is your DAT scores. AADSAS is crazy, apply EARLY! good luck.

I think early applying is the most important thing! everyone are emphasizing!!
How long does it take to complite application and am I put information through internet? or written form?
My school do not really have pre-dent advisor, she is pre-med advisor, but she knows less than me in Pre-dent. So I need some help
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!

You e-submit your application to AADSAS and of they have all your transcripts there they will begin to verify your GPA - takes about 2-4 weeks.

Then they will send out your application to the schools - takes about 3-6 weeks.

In the mean time you can send in your LOR to AADSAS or directly to the schools and have ADA send your DAT scores (the ADA is a little quicker and it takes 1-2 weeks to send out your DAT scores)

Good luck.
