Attention Mercer Pharmacy students...

I hope that got your attention. 🙂 I'm writing the supplemental essay for Mercer U and it's asking how attending Mercer will contribute to my professional goals. Well, I've perused their website and can't find anything specific about their school, so I'm not sure what to write about. I'm NOT asking anyone to write this for me, I just wanted to know what qualities Mercer considers important as a member of their pharmacy class.

I dont think Mercer ask that question..it just said "send me whatever you write in PharmCAS" i dont know where u got that from..weird =\

I'm talking about the last part of the supplemental application... did you apply this year or last year? It actually says, "As part of your PharmCAS application, you are asked to provide a statement regarding your desire to pursue pharmacy as a career and the Doctor of Pharmacy degree. At this time, please describe how participation in Mercer's Doctor of Pharmacy degree program will benefit your educational and career goals. (Please limit your statement to no more than one page.)"

So it is NOT asking for the same thing as PharmCAS.

And the problem is I really can't find anything unique about the program!

I guess I'll have to look more.

mercer is on a block scheduling.....
not all schools do that.

also i'm sure their rotation sites are listed somewhere on their website and i'm sure they have something with the CDC.... you could always mention the quality of rotations they offer and the fields you are interested in.

uh oh...i copy and paste the pharmCAS Application to Mercer..oh well..my pcat sucks anyway screw it

Ok, so Mercer is on block scheduling. I looked at their website, and from the curriculum it seems P2-P3 are on block scheduling, and P1 isn't. Their site says that only P3 is. What gives?

Good question starsweet! My interview at Mercer is Friday (Sept.30) and I'd love to find out a little more about this block scheduling thing before I go. By the way, anyone with advice on Mercer interviews-I would appreciate some input 😀 Especially since I just found out about the interview TODAY!

Good luck, ndearwater! I guess you've already taken the PCAT? None of my apps will be reviewed until I take it in October, which means I won't have any interviews until after then. 🙁 I'd love to hear about your interview though!

I took the PCAT last October; I'm a reapplicant. Being early is the best thing going for me this year! I will make sure to let you know how everything goes!!!!!
