hmmm, why is there not a link to register on the actual AAMC website?
I filled out the whole application and as i was about to complete it i noticed the 200 bucks that i had to pay. Damn it... So i saved my application, dont know when next i will return.. I need to go sell my kidney first
if this is my second time writing, i still have to open a NEW REGISTRATION accoutn correct?
because my THX password/login doesn't seem to be working when i click on "existing registration account". just want to make sure this is a FRESH registration (not saving my registration info from last august).

That's another $210 to add to the pre-med expense report.
Yes, you have to re-register. You already completed a registration; therefore you have no existing registration.bananaboat said:if this is my second time writing, i still have to open a NEW REGISTRATION accoutn correct?

I'm just surprised that it's open already. Now I have to figure out how I'm going to swing $200 early enough to get my desired spot. 😎
i still don't know how we don't know this is a scam.
actrs19.act.org???
whats keeping me from making a fake website, asking for credit card information, and saying its for an early mcat registration?
Or am i missing something?

MCAT is run by the same people who run the ACT. The link from the official website works now.Avicenna04 said:i still don't know how we don't know this is a scam.

does anyone know how we find out if we got our location?

You won't find out which site you'll be at until they mail you the admission ticket, which usually goes out 5-6 weeks before the exam. That said, you'll probably get one of your choices seeing how early it is...for April, I registered in January before it was an option on the main page (I also just stumbled across the link), and got my first choice...and that's in NYC! 🙂
which one you're applying to
Hey, where is the CBT option on here?
gujuDoc said:Thankfully, for me, then there aren't too many people where I'm taking it and all the test centers are within close proximity to where I live. I probably won't wait til the end like last time, but I'm not going to be the first person to put my registration in either, because I never had issues with it in the past.
Heh, it's craaaazy where I live. 😀 I know someone who had to travel pretty damn far to get to her test site ... she had to wake up reaaaaally early to get there ... I'm already going to have to wake up extra early as it is (since the closest test site is 1.5 hours away from my house
) ... so yeah, I've been checking the AAMC website every day to make sure I register as early as possible ... I'd better get my first choice!! 😛The above link is for the paper test only.Avicenna04 said:Hey, where is the CBT option on here?

Scroll down and click on "computer based"

That one is for the april exam i think. It says there are no seats available.

Hrm ... sorry, I never clicked on the link and just assumed that the registration for paper-based and computer-based would open at the same time. 😳 Guess not ... 😛

hey don't register too late though or you may not get the center you want
for some reason this april's all the boston ones were filled, and some of my friends had to go to rhode island!!! (i requested them to change me back later, and plagued them with many phone calls, so later when they did open a center up, i got in, but my friends didn't!)
So.. I wonder if it's like this every year (cos do you think the number of applicants in boston area could suddenly surge!??) (that is a question), they should have opened up enough centers in the first place!
I wonder what happened.. but I learnt it this time and I'm gonna register sooner this year.. (p.s anyone took it in Boston last year and did you get your first choice? when did you register?)

You should get a hotel near your test site. Stay their for two days so you get used to sleeping their. I had some freinds who did that when they took in the city, made life a lot easier for them... 🙄

Haha ... I think taking the MCAT is expensive enough as it is without adding the cost of a hotel! 😛
